Multiculturalism in Play Therapy

Learn to respect and integrate diverse cultural backgrounds in therapy.

Saturday, November 1, 2025

8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Are you a play therapist struggling to navigate the complexities of cultural diversity in your sessions?

Do you wish you could confidently address personal biases and enhance your therapeutic impact?

You're not alone. Many therapists find it challenging to balance cultural respect with effective therapy. Personal biases can unknowingly impact your practice, leaving you feeling unsure and ineffective.

This course helps play therapists use interventions that respect clients' & families' diverse cultural backgrounds, gender identities, and unique experiences, according to APT's Best Practices.

We also will discuss how to be more aware of our own biases and their influence on our play therapy work.

Whether you attend live in Houston or via our live stream, you'll get action steps to feel more confident in your practice.

3 Hours Contact (In person) or Non-Contact (via Streaming)

What We'll Cover

Here are the learning objectives for our training:

  1. Be able to identify different cultural aspects and their applications to play therapy

  2. Learn specific play therapy interventions that are applicable to various cultures

  4. Learn the importance of different cultural traditions and holidays and their applications to play therapy

  5. Learn the importance of identity in minority populations

  6. Enhance their skills in working with a variety of populations

We'll cover the Association for Play Therapy's Best Practices' recommendations that play therapists be active in using interventions that understand and respect clients' and families' diverse cultural backgrounds, gender identities, and unique experiences, as well as an awareness of how their own biases may influence their work in the play room.

All this for $75!!
